Walked 2k this morning. Not sure that I will get another walk in tonight. depends how much work I have left to do.

Think I will bail out of getting weighed again today. but will have to face it next week. It's been a hard hard week and life has just got in the way, of everything.

DIET
Not good today, but better than yesterday. Today I still had a vanilla crown and some nuts but had carrot and houmus pittas.

Will have oregano and mushroom pasta for dinner. and I will freeze a spagbol for early next week

Tori
had a late night last night, had a wee in the night and nappy was dry this morning. This is good. Yesterday she had us in fits of laughter as she was running around to the consistent beat of a drumming machine. Her dance changing with each type of drumming!

Waiting Rooms

Hospital waiting room - brown and creams;
Nothing here to raise our dreams.
The air is filled with a thousand fears,
The room damp from a million tears.
Even now it feeds on my sorrow;
It’ll claim it as its own, tomorrow.
The clock face looks down from the wall.
Tales of woe? It’s heard them all.

The maternity end and the room is lighter;
The colours here are vibrant, brighter.
The air is filled with hope and joy -
The room echoes to shouts of girl! or boy!
The clock face here is full of fun;
Its colours reflect the golden sun.
As it steadily counts minutes and hours.
It looks down on a room filled with flowers.

As the two clocks tick in unison
We move on in life from room to room
Alarm clocks to see us start the day
School clocks to signal the end of play
Our lives always watched by a ticking face
They count off our seconds and set our pace.
Our heart beats counted by the sweeping hand,
And our lives trickle on like the hourglass sand.

Christmas 2007

Another Christmas brings another task
This time we had to make a mask.
The table was ready we took our places.
And had a laugh at the assorted faces,
Some held on a stick some with a band
The strangest tablemates in the land

It might be a little quieter this year,
Some had lost someone dear,
Others suffering colds and flu –
Cancel Christmas? What to do?
But of course we can’t - we’re not like that
Miss the chance to wear a paper hat?

The meal of course was a pleasant affair
You can’t keep down the festive air.
Goodwill and peace towards all men
We were all so polite but THEN:

After dinner, no gun but a reindeer race;
Some of these went at quite a pace,
Others moved slowly along the trail,
Rudolph I’m sure was really a snail.

Some got lost, fell off the table
They needed help to keep them stable.
This led to shouts of ‘fixer’ and ‘cheat’
Everyone shouting stamping their feet

The family Christmas was back on track!
Brilliant - we’ve still got the knack.
Goodwill and peace - what fun is that
When I can call my sister a cheating …

A truce was called when Lucy turned pale
We thought - as usual - ‘too much ale’
But this time she can have the benefit of doubt
It was a good old novavirus that knocked her out.

She has started to write poetry at points in her life when things mean soemthing. Last week she was sitting with a great aunt who was in intensive care and slowly fading away she wrote this and had to wait until aunty had gone before finishing it:
"Goodbye"

I can hear you you know
Even though I’m not moving.
I can hear you you know,
I’m not really sleeping.
I can hear you you know,
You are not listening.
I am calling you know,
Why aren’t you listening?
I am shouting you know,
Still you are not listening.
I can feel you you know,
I know that you’re near me.
I can feel you you know,
Your tears all around me.
I am waiting you know,
To see who is calling.
I am waiting you know,
To decide who to go to.
I am saying goodbye,
I hope you can hear me

more to follow...

Wet nappy in the night so still not dry enough to be out of nappies. This morning was very happy that I was dropping her. Sang 'there's only one litte dog in the basket' for most of the journey. This is her song that she made up with my Dad
